Basic First Aid C (aka. Emergency First Aid C)

Who is this for?

  • Entrepreneurs with fewer than 50 workers (including staff, volunteers, and contractors)

  • Strongly recommended for every person

  • Chapters 1-8 Canadian Red Cross First Aid and CPR manual (2017)

  • Certification is valid for 3 years

1 Day Course (8 hrs in class)

  • The 1 Day Course is ideal for those who are taking Basic First Aid for the first time or who prefer a slower pace.

Blended (5 hrs in class + 4 hrs online)

  • Online learning time varies by student

  • Blended students must show their completion certificate before the in-class skills training indicating they completed the online modules and review

Recertification (5.5 hrs in class)

  • It is strongly recommended to read the Red Cross First Aid & CPR manual prior to class.

  • Recert students must show their current first aid certificate before the in-class skills training. Expired certificates must take the 1 Day or Blended course

Intermediate First Aid C (aka. Standard First Aid C)

Who is this for?

  • Workers who do not have first aid certification, or their certification has expired

  • Entrepreneurs with 50 or more workers (including staff, volunteers, and contractors)

  • Often required for people who work with children, special needs, or elderly; healthcare professionals; and teaching/coaching positions

  • Strongly recommended for parents and relatives of small children and seniors

  • Certification is valid for 3 years

2 Day Course (16 hrs in class)

  • Day 1 : Chapters 1-8 Canadian Red Cross First Aid and CPR manual (2017)

  • Day 2 : Chapters 9-13 Canadian Red Cross First Aid and CPR manual (2017)

  • The 2 Day Course is ideal for those who are taking Intermediate First Aid for the first time.

Blended (8.5 hrs in class + 8 hrs online)

  • Chapters 1-13 Canadian Red Cross First Aid and CPR manual (2017)

  • Online learning time varies by student

  • Blended students must show their completion certificate before the in-class skills training indicating they completed the online modules and review

Recertification (8.5 hrs in class)

  • What to do if you find a person is unconscious

Chapter 4: Choking

  • What to do if you or someone near you is choking

Chapter 5: Circulation Emergencies

  • Covers heart attack, stroke, and life threatening bleeding

Chapter 6: CPR & AED

  • Learn the proper way to perform CPR and use an AED on an adult, child, and infant

  • Common mistakes to avoid

Chapter 7: Breathing Emergencies

  • Covers Hyperventilation, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis

Chapter 8: Wound Care

  • Learn how to bandage and treat different cut wounds

  • When and how to use a tourniquet

  • Recognize and treat burns

  • Learn how to properly treat crush injuries
